MORGAN COUNTY-The Morgan County Sheriff’s Drug Task Force and the Hartselle Police made a drug arrest on Friday, March 20. Here is how Sheriff Ana Franklin describe events:
“On Friday, March 20, 2015, Morgan County Drug Task Force Agents and Hartselle Police went to 1000 Mitwede St. Apt I-8 in Hartselle in reference to drug activity. Agents had received information that there was multiple people coming and going from the apartment at all hours of the night.
Agents made contact with Michael Logan Hickson, 21, and Amanda Evangeline Speakes, 31. Agents smelled the odor of marijuana and observed drug paraphernalia in view. Agents obtained consent to search the apartment and discovered meth making materials, methamphetamine, and
a small amount of marijuana. Agents discovered that Speakes was buying cold pills and providing them to meth cooks in the area.
Agents arrested Hickson and charged him with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance-Methamphetamine and Unlawful Possession of Felony Drug Paraphernalia. His bond is set at $5,000.00.
Agents charged Speakes with Unlawful Manufacture of a Controlled Substance 2nd. Speakes’ bond is set at $5,000.00. Both subjects remain in the Morgan County Jail.
The investigation is ongoing.”
