Charles Edward Quigley, 63, was born Nov. 26, 1951, in Florence, Alabama, the son of the late Joseph Franklin Quigley and Clara Louise Watkins Quigley. Mr. Quigley died at his home Tuesday, March 10, 2015. A graduate of UNA in Florence, he was previous owner of Quigley’s General Store, salesman at Anderson Ford and Nelda Stephenson Chevrolet, and manager at Quigley’s Hardware. He was a member of Stainless Lodge, Iron City, Tennessee. On July 4, 2003, he was married to Jane McCain Quigley, who survives, of Iron City, Tennessee. Other survivors are three daughters, Virginia Leigh Quigley, of San Francisco, California, Kristi McCain Nix (Scott), of Harvest, Alabama, and Dana McCain Crummie (George), of Russellville, Alabama; grandchildren, Emili and Patrick Crummie and Brandon, Ryan, and Sarah Nix; a sister, Kathy Quigley and niece, LeAnna Quigley and nephew, Frank Quigley (Lori), all of Iron City, Tennessee; and great-nephews, Johnathan and Jamison Quigley.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Cleaborne Quigley, and nephew, Pat Quigley.
Services were held Friday, March 13, 2015, at 3 p.m. at Stateline Church. Terry Herston and Keith Montgomery officiated. Burial followed in Railroad Cemetery with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements. Visitation was Friday from 1 p.m. until service time at the church.
Pallbearers were George Crummie, Scott Nix, Patrick Crummie, Michael Roberson, Wymon May, Dwight Watkins, Dennis Givens, and Jeff Stutts. Honorary pallbearers were Ryan Nix, Brandon Nix, Kenneth Martin, Joe Whitt Miller, Shannon Gibson, and Michael Inman.
