DECATUR-During a routine traffic stop the Decatur Police discovered guns and drugs and an arrest was made.  Here is how the Decatur Police Department describe the incident:

SYNOPSIS OF OFFENSE & ARREST:

“On August 10, 2014, Officer Brandi Reed of the Decatur Police Department’s Patrol Division initiated a traffic stop on a white Chevy Impala for a moving violation. The traffic stop occurred on Bank St near the Vine St intersection in Decatur, Alabama. Jaylen Tremayne Williams was identified as a passenger of the vehicle and was later found in possession of a quantity of crack cocaine and marijuana. During the search of the vehicle, a hand gun was also located within the reach of Williams, who did not have an active pistol permit.

Williams was charged with Illegal Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of marijuana 2nd Degree, Tampering with Physical Evidence, and Carrying a Pistol without a Permit. Williams was transported and processed at the Decatur City Jail. He was later transferred to the Morgan County Jail in lieu of a $4,000.00 aggregate bond.”
