Mildred Virginia Renfroe Hobbs – Obituary

MildredOn March 8, 2014, Mildred Virginia Renfroe Hobbs graduated from her earthly home into her Heavenly home, at the age of 92. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 11, 2014, from 11a.m. until 1p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia with funeral following at 1p.m. Rev. Bill Bedsole and Nicky Hobbs III will be leading her service. She will be buried privately in Oakwood Cemetery, Sheffield. Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews.

Preceding Mildred in death were her husband, Nick Hobbs, Sr. and her three sons, Nicky, Jr., Ronny (Jo Anne) and Danny.

Left to cherish her memory are daughters, Bobbie Ann Roach and Judy Jenkins (Bill), Sheffield, AL; sister, Mary Margaret Little (Fred), Gurley, AL; daughters – in – law, Paula and Robin; seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Mildred was a member of First United Methodist Church, Sheffield, where for 70 years she was an active member. She held multiple offices in her Sunday School class Wesleyan Fellowship and was part of the United Methodist Women’s Organization. She lived a Christian Life and was admired by people from all walks of life. She enjoyed her friends at church as well as neighbors throughout her life.

In Lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the General Fund at First United Methodist Church, Sheffield. Morrison Funeral home is assisting the family.

The family expresses special thanks to Helen Keller Hospice (Fran Renfro and Grace Gunn) and her caregivers, Debra and Whitney Connie and Natasha Jordan for their loving care.
