Gary Wayne Yessick, 85 of Arab passed away Friday, October 9, 2026, at Diversicare of Arab. He was born July 24, 1941, in Shelby County, he was the son of John Thomas Yessick and Effie Lee Pool Yessick. After graduating from high school, he became a licensed funeral director and mortician. He began his career in Mobile before moving to Arab in 1972. There, he joined the Gober family at Gober Funeral Chapel and served local families for nearly 50 years. He was a member of the Arab First United Methodist Church.

Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at Gober Funeral Chapel. The burial will be in Arab Memorial Cemetery, Gober Funeral Chapel directing.

Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Gober Funeral Chapel.
