FLORENCE – There seems to have been a spate of child pornography arrests lately in North Alabama. Yesterday in Florence, police detectives arrested 18-year-old Mykell Devon Ramsey for allegedly possessing and distributing child pornography. According to Florence Police, a forensics specialist found images of girls under the age of 12, and some girls who appear younger than 10-years-old.
According to his facebook page, Ramsay is originally from Los Angeles. The photos that have been allegedly found on Ramsay’s cellphone apparently do not depict any local children.
Ramsay, who graduated from Florence High School in 2013, was booked in to the Florence Detention Center on a charge of possession of child pornography, which is a Class C felony. If convicted, he stands to serve 1 to 10 years in prison.
He is out of jail on a $30-thousand bail-bond.
