Cassie Lou Simpson Martin was born on October 1, 1952 to the late Whitney Simpson and Marie Welch Simpson. She was called to be reunited with the Lord on July 3, 2013. She was preceded in death by one son, Michael Cortez Martin; two sisters, Evelyn Simpson and Emma Dean McDowell; and three brothers, Floyd Simpson, Roland Simpson, and William Simpson.
Cassie was a member of Pulaski Street Church of Christ and the Lawrence County Organization for Community Improvement. She earned a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Counseling in 2008. She is survived by one son, Robert (Bridget) Martin of Lawrenceburg, TN; one daughter, Alisa (Leslie) Pearson of Nashville, TN; seven grandchildren, Natoschia Martin Sharp, Khearra Martin Mosley, Derrick Martin, Krizten Martin, Alekz Martin, Drew Martin, and Jaden Pearson. Three great-grandchildren also survive as well as two brothers, Joseph (Brenda)Simpson of Lawrenceburg, TN, and Edward (Cathy) Simpson of California; and four sisters, Alice (James) Christmon of Chicago, IL, Frances Jones of Lawrenceburg, TN, Mary Wilson of Lawrenceburg, TN, Florence (F.A.) Derrick of Nashville, TN; and special friend, William Lee of Columbia, TN. A host of nieces, nephews, and friends survive as well.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM Saturday, July 06, 2013 at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 2:00 PM Saturday, July 06, 2013, with Patrick Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens in Lawrenceburg, TN.
