Funeral service for Joseph Edward Brown, age 75, of Decatur, will be Sunday, July 7, 2013, 2:00 p.m. at Gassett Funeral Home in Wetumpka, AL. The family will receive friends on Friday, July 5, 2013, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home in Decatur, AL, and for one hour prior to service at Gassett Funeral Home. Interment will be in Wetumpka City Cemetery.
Mr. Brown, who died Wednesday, July 3, 2013, in Decatur, was born December 31, 1937, in Wetumpka, AL., to Zeb Brown and Viola Hellums Brown. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, James Brown, and two sisters, Eunice Bigham and Agnes Mixon.
He is survived by his son, Joe Edward Brown (Tammy) of Decatur; one brother, John Brown of Wetumpka; three sisters, Francis Berger of Lapine, Dorothy Milner of Lumberton, TX, and Faye Makowsky of Pike Road; three grandchildren, Stephanie Todd (David) of Priceville, Brittney Cardwell (Josh) of Decatur, and Caleb Brown of Decatur; and two great-grandchildren, Emma Brown and Evie Todd.
