  Charles Crawford Howell's obituary pictureCharles Crawford Howell, 86, passed away at his home on August 16, 2026, surrounded by his family.

He was always willing to help anyone in need and loved company.  He was a Christian man whose love for his family was very important to him.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 49 years, Tricia Howell, his daughters, Verona Clay (Nicky), Kim McCain (Richard), and Patrice Blackwelder (Glenn) and grandchildren, Andi Clay, Matthew Clay (Madeline), Chad McIntyre, Jayson McIntyre, Kayla McIntyre Daniell, Cody Howell, Dylon Blackwelder, Haley Smith and one sister, Dalph Bender.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Edna Howell, brothers Dennis and Bobby Howell, a sister, Kay Melton, and a son, Chuck Howell.

He was born June 17, 1940. He grew up in Oak Level, where he worked as a rural carrier for the post office for 30 years. After he retired, he worked for 18 years at Midway Sales, where he loved meeting and greeting our customers.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at Rabbittown Baptist Church.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Gentiva Hospice and to his nurse, Kristie Hall, for the sweet care she gave to him the past 6 months. She was the most caring and compassionate nurse to him. We also want to thank Heather for being there for us after his passing.
