Freda Ann Jester Duskin, 75, of Horton, passed away Friday, June 26, 2026, at Shepherds Cove Hospice, surrounded by her family.
Freda was born and raised in Cullman, Ala., and graduated from West Point High School.
In 1967, Freda married the love of her life and husband of nearly 60 years, Terry Duskin. Together they had two children, Anna and Jamie, and moved to Marshall County in the 1980s and quickly established roots in the Horton community.
Freda was a hard worker, having experience in running a chicken farm, owning and operating a service station, providing cleaning services, and finally, working as a substitute teacher and bus driver for Marshall County Schools.
Freda was a longtime member of Rock Springs Baptist Church in Albertville.
She and Terry lived a life of adventure. She enjoyed camping and traveling all over the country together.
But above all, she loved her family.
Freda’s immediate survivors include her husband, Terry Duskin; daughter, Anna (Tim) Beck; son, Jamie Duskin; three grandsons including Matthew (Emily) Beck, Joshua (Jade) Beck, and Taylor (Kelly) Beck; and seven great-grandchildren; her sister, Betty Wallace; brother, Wade (Gina) Jester.
She is preceded in death by her father, Gilbert Jester; mother, Obera Evan Jester; sister, Barbara Laney; and brother, Wayne Jester.
A memorial service for Freda will be Monday at 2:00PM at Rock Springs Baptist Church in Albertville, where she will Lie-in-State from 12:00PM-2:00PM.
Visitation will be held Sunday 4:30PM -7:00PM at Adams Brown Service Funeral Home.
