Montie Odell Robinson was born on January 7, 1948, in Selmer, Tennessee, the son of the late James McClellan Robinson and Hazel Katherine Amerson Robinson.
On May 29, 1968, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Sandra Coleman Robinson. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, hard work, and unwavering devotion to one another.
Montie was a man of many talents and a strong work ethic. Before entering the classroom, he owned and operated a body shop, where he developed a reputation for his skill and craftsmanship. He later devoted more than 25 years to educating and mentoring young people, teaching Auto Industries at Tennessee College of Applied Technology, Bolivar High School, and McNairy Central High School. He took great pride in helping students learn a trade and prepare for successful futures, leaving a lasting impact on countless lives throughout the community.
A proud veteran of the United States Army, Montie served his country with honor and carried that same sense of dedication and responsibility throughout his life. He enjoyed working on cars, building houses, fishing, and spending time on his tractor. He loved traveling and was always happiest when he had a project to work on or a place to explore.
Of all the things he cherished, nothing meant more to Montie than his family. He was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and treasured great-grandfather. The moments spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were among his greatest joys, and the love he shared with them will remain a lasting legacy for generations to come.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Sandra Robinson of Selmer, Tennessee; a son, Marty Robinson and wife Hannah of Selmer, Tennessee; a daughter, Tracy Borner of Selmer, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Isaiah Robinson and wife Emily of Selmer, Tennessee, Blaire Robinson of Atlanta, Georgia, Brady Robinson and wife Claire of Silverdale, Washington, and Briley Robinson of Nashville, Tennessee; six great-grandchildren, JaTaylin Damron, Elizabeth Robinson, Robert Robinson, Hayden Kelley, Asher Kelley, and Xada Robinson, all of Selmer, Tennessee; and a sister, Donna Pickle and husband Johnny of Bethel Springs, Tennessee.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Robinson was preceded in death by a beloved granddaughter, BreAnna Damron; and two brothers, James Robinson and Mack Robinson.
Montie will be remembered for his kind heart, steady hands, quiet strength, and deep love for his family. His life was one of service, hard work, and devotion, and his memory will forever be cherished by all who were blessed to know and love him.
