Wilson Cassel Shook, 94, of Pendleton, Indiana passed away on April 12, 2026. He was born on February 12, 1932 in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee and grew up in Lauderdale County, Alabama. He moved north for work, eventually settling in at Delco-Remy where he met and married Gay Pitman. They raised their family in rural Markleville.
Cass was an Utility Man for Delco-Remy Division of General Motors, retiring after 30 years of service. After retirement, he built a home and cattle herd on the family farm in Alabama, where he and wife, Gay lived their best life for over twenty years, before moving back to Indiana to be closer to family.
He was a proud veteran, having served in Korea during the Korean War. One of the highlights of his life was taking the Honor Flight trip to Washington D.C. He was a member of Ovid Community Church.
Case is survived by his loving sons, Barry Shook of Anderson and Douglas (Alison) Shook of Moline, IL; grandchildren Scott (Angie) Shook of Middletown, IN; Ethan (Kryn) Shook of Ball Ground, GA; and Lauren Shook of Tulsa, OK. His great grandchildren who held a special place in his heart include: Myles, Penelope, Charlotte, Griffin, and Rowan. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, as well as siblings-in-law Wanda and Kenneth Black. His family was dear to his heart and he loved them all very much.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mamie Shook; wife, Oletia “Gay” Shook; and daughter, Lori Shook. His sisters who preceded him in death were Etha Mosely, Geneva Morrison, and Bobbie Shook. Brothers Reab Shook and Bufford Shook also preceded him in death.
A funeral service will be held in Bonnertown, Tennessee at Bonnertown Missionary Baptist Church on Saturday, April 18th at 4PM. Rev Chris Joiner will officiate. Visitation will be held from 2-4 PM at the church.
Burial will take place after the service at Bonnertown Cemetery.
