Mr. Troy Lee Whitehead was born January 19, 1942 to the union of his parents the late Mr. Oscar Whitehead and Mrs. Nancy Holden Whitehead. Throughout his adolescent and teenage years, he learned to love the outdoors and possessed an affinity for animals. He enjoyed fishing and hunting quail but also loved feeding the birds and squirrel and all the different wildlife that also called the region home. In his early occupational years, he worked in eastern Tennessee driving a bulldozer, assisting in building the Interstate System throughout the mountain terrain. After several years, he would return to southern Wayne County, TN and drive a road grader for the County Highway Dept. In 1977 he began his final occupation as a factory laborer, working for the Reynolds Aluminum factory in Florence, AL. where he would remain until his retirement. Mr. Whitehead was a member of Aluminum, Brick Glass Workers International Union in Florence, AL and was of the Baptist faith. In his leisure time he enjoyed watching “Westerns” on television and listening to “Classic Country’ legends such as “Waylon Jennings” and “George Jones” all while spending time with his dogs “Rover” and Freemont” and cat “Whitey”. However, he held no other times closest to his heart than the moments he spent with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mr. Troy Lee Whitehead passed from this life on August 21, 2026 in Florence, Al making his stay on this earth some 84 years, 7 months and 2 days.
Those left to cherish his memory include his son Randell Whitehead wife Jennifer; daughter Gayla Whitehead all of Iron City, TN; grandchildren Andrew Lee Whitehead, Adrianna Kaye Whitehead and Nicole Crews husband Blaine; great grandchildren Hayes and Camden Crews; as well as several nieces and nephews; as well as many other family members, friends and dear loved ones.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his infant son Ronald Whitehead; siblings Edward Whitehead, Harold Whitehead, Deloen Whitehead, Solon Whitehead, Evelyn Whitehead and Ruby Whitehead.
