Darrell Lathan Sadler, 71, passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by his loving family on August 19, 2026.

Darrell grew up on Taylor Road on the family farm in the Big Cove community, where he was taught by his dad as a child to work hard, which stayed with him the remainder of his life. After attending Big Cove School and Huntsville High, he went on to attend Jacksonville State University where he met the love of his life, Jackie Ray, from Resaca Georgia. Shortly after they were married on September 24, 1977, they went on to give their lives to the Lord, and Darrell received the Holy Ghost on October 16, 1977. Darrell was a faithful member of Big Cove Holiness Church for over 48 years. Darrell worked various jobs during his lifetime but spent most of his working days running his own businesses. Although Darrell’s love for his family was beyond measure, it still came second to his love for the Lord.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse E. and Nell Coulter Sadler, his in-laws, Jack and Delma Ray, his brother, Jerry Sadler, his brother-in-law, Stanley Ray, and three grandchildren, triplets: Marie, Jon, and Matthew.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jackie; his sons, Stephen, Jonathan (Jerrica), Christopher (Holly); his nine grandchildren, Adrian (Blake) Gustin, Ansley, Lexie, Rayleigh, Adalyn, Lathan, Jed, Michael, and Olive; one great-granddaughter, Raelynn Gustin; his sister, Gaynell Sadler Walls; his sisters-in-law, Judy Sadler and Charlotte Ray; special cousins, Karen and Walton Walls; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Saturday 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Sunday 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Big Cove Holiness Church. Services will follow Sunday at 12:00 PM with Bro. Mark Warren, Bro. Josh Trotman, and Bro. Stephen Sadler officiating.
Pallbearers: Walton Walls, Dr. Joe Beshears, Rusty Walls, Spencer Sturdivant, Dustin Sadler, Allen Farlow, Jason Ray, and Tyler Ray.

Interment will be in Hampton Cove Cemetery.

The Sadler family would like to express their great appreciation to all who showed their love through prayers, prayer meetings, visits, food, and the loving care that has been shown in so many ways throughout Darrell’s illness. We pray God’s blessings upon each and every one who made an effort to lighten our heavy load. We want to thank you all for sharing our grief and for helping us celebrate the life of Brother Darrell Sadler.
