Wayne Baker Williams  Wayne Baker Williams passed peacefully on Thursday evening with his wife of 59 years, Gayle Clark Williams, by his side. Wayne, known to friends and loved ones as Duck, was born in Gallatin, Tennessee to Charles Gordon and Belle Butler Williams and his older brother, Joe Gordon.

The family moved to their farm in Franklin County in 1939 where Duck enjoyed playing basketball and football at Huntland. He went on to college in Chattanooga before serving in the Army. He had a 30 year career at Arnold Center while raising his daughters, Kelly and Lori, in Winchester.

Duck was quite the character, always quick with a joke and a smile. In his younger years, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle in the mountains, boating and skiing on the lake. Retirement renewed his interest in gardening, canning and world travel. He was an avid reader and enjoyed life to the fullest.

In addition to Gayle, Kelly, Lori and son-in-law, Bubba, Duck leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter. His grandson, Chet, was his pride and joy always bringing a smile to his face. His brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews will miss his wit at family functions. His many friends will remember his antics fondly.

Visitation will be from 11am-1pm on Sunday, August 1, 2021, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 1:00 pm in the Moore-Cortner Chapel. After the service, family and friends are invited to a reception at Christ the King Anglican Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Christ the King Anglican Church in Winchester, Tennessee.

Moore-Cortner Funeral Home, 300 First Ave NW, Winchester, TN 37398, (931)-967-2222
