Kenneth Elbert Trapp, age 84, passed away on August 30, 2026. A service is not planned at this time.

He was a beloved Dad, Dedu, DaDa and husband. He was loved by everyone who met him; even during his illness, most times he could smile and laugh. He grew up in the Trapp Town community in Franklin County, AL, where his father owned a country store that served the entire area. All the community knew him and loved him.

He graduated from Phil Campbell High School and then began working for Tennessee River Pulp and Paperwood Company, which eventually became PCA. He worked there his entire career, eventually retiring in Starkville, Mississippi, then moving back to Alabama after retirement.

He has one grandson Patrik Trapp and a nephew Bentlee Whitehead…whom he adored. He was a father figure to many throughout his life. He leaves a legacy of love. He cared greatly for his family and did not want to leave them. But his illness was so great that he could not overcome it on this side of heaven. You will be missed dearly.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Trapp; daughter, Andrea Trapp; sisters, Joy Trapp Morgan; Kaye Trapp Hutcheson (Harlon); grandchildren, Patrik Trapp (Dr. Cathryn Reza Trapp) of Boston, MA; and many nieces and nephews with special mention to Bentlee Whithead who he loved dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elbert & Eva (Gibson) Trapp; sister, Delona Trapp Wynn; brothers, Terry Trapp, Terrel Trapp; and brother-in-law, Buell Morgan.

The family asks in his memory, please make a donation to the Florence Lauderdale Animal Shelter.
