FLORENCE –The Department of Entertainment Industry UNA Theatre will take on Picasso at the Lapin Agile, Nov. 3, 4, 9, 10 and 11 at 7:30 p.m., and Nov. 5 and 12 at 2 p.m., at the George S. Lindsey Theatre.

This long running Off-Broadway absurdist comedy places Albert Einstein and Pablo Picasso in a Parisian cafe in 1904, just before the renowned scientist transformed physics with his theory of relativity and the celebrated painter set the art world afire with cubism.

Written by comedian Steve Martin in his first comedy for the stage, the popular actor and screenwriter plays fast and loose with fact, fame and fortune as these two geniuses muse on the century’s achievements and prospects, as well as other fanciful topics, with infectious dizziness and many surprise guests.

Picasso at the Lapin Agile won the 1996 Outer Critics Circle Award and Best Off-Broadway Play.

General admission tickets are $10, or $5 for Student/Faculty/Staff/Alumni.  Tickets can be purchased at the Lindsey Box Office (M-W-F, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.), online at una.edu/theatre/productions or at the door.
