U.S. Navy Brings Navy Week to Huntsville for the First Time

HUNTSVILLE – For the first time ever, the U.S. Navy is bringing Navy Week to Huntsville, Alabama from April 21–27. This exciting week-long celebration will feature more than 50 Sailors participating in community service projects, musical performances, STEM events, and public appearances across the Rocket City.

Huntsville Navy Week coincides with the Navy’s 250th birthday year, part of a global celebration recognizing the service’s enduring commitment to national security, technological advancement, and community partnership. Navy Week is designed to inform, educate, and inspire by bringing the Navy to cities that do not have a large naval presence.

Highlighted Events Include:
• Navy Week Kickoff Celebration & Proclamation – April 21, 5:30–8:00 PM at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center
• Navy Band Southeast Performances – Multiple dates and venues including Burritt on the Mountain, Lowe Mill, and the U.S. Space & Rocket Center
• Earth Day Community Clean-Up – April 22, 4:00–6:00 PM
• Military Salute Night at Panoply Arts Festival – April 25, 5:00–9:00 PM
• Arbor Day 5K & Sapling Fun Run – April 26, 7:00–10:30 AM
• STEM & History Experiences – Featuring the Navy’s Meteorology & Oceanography Command, Naval History & Heritage Command, and more
Throughout the week, the public will also have opportunities to meet Navy leadership, hometown Sailors, and Sailors serving aboard the USS Alabama. Events are family-friendly and open to the public.
