Thomas Risher – Obituary

thomasMr. Thomas Risher, 65, of Florence, passed away on July 30, 2016. He was a professor, educator, and a professional musician for over fifty years. He was proud of all his students.  He was a member of Percussive Arts Society, honorary member of Kappa Kappa Psi and a member of the American Federation of Musicians.  He held the title of Champion of the Meridian, Mississippi Soapbox Derby in 1964.

A graveside service will be Thursday, August 4, 2016 in Greenview Memorial Park at 10:00 a.m. with Charles Risher officiating.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Harriett Ann Risher; parents, Charles and Gertrude Risher and sister, Penny Risher.

Survivors include his son, Thomas D. Risher, Jr. of Florence, daughter, Kelli Risher Brown of Lexington, Kentucky and Mitch Brown.
