With hearts full of sorrow on the occasion, but also gratitude for having shared the experience of knowing her, we announce the passing of Terry Lynn Floyd of Tuscumbia, AL. Born on May 30, 1954, Terry passed away peacefully on April 18, 2026, at the age of 71. A graduate of the original Bradshaw High School in Florence and a member of First Baptist Church of Tuscumbia, Terry spent her entire life in the Shoals area that she dearly loved. She was a woman of extraordinary compassion and possessed a strength that saw a silver lining in every situation. She always carried a pleasant charm with a wit that made her a joy to spend time with among her many friends and family.

A devoted wife, a loving mother, and the foundation of her family, Terry possessed an avid love of cooking, which was expressed through the many unique dishes she prepared for both her own home and her many relatives. Her artistry didn’t stop there as she also held a hobby of China painting, displaying her pieces throughout her house, and venues around the Shoals. Her love of animals was demonstrated through acts of kindness, always making sure the strays of her neighborhood were well fed and had a place to go for shelter; her front porch was always well stocked with plenty of food, water, and blankets. Perhaps above all else, Terry had a great appreciation for the Golden Age of Hollywood Cinema, as well as early television sitcoms and mysteries; she would frequently be found enjoying the films and shows of that era or reading one of her many books on its actors, including her favorite director, Alfred Hitchcock.

Terry was preceded in death by her late husband, George Douglas Floyd. She is survived by her daughters Hope (Eric) Williams and Katherine (Justin) Hall, her mother Patricia Rea, her stepfather Herman Rea, four grandchildren, Denby, Alexander, Nash, and Pierce, her sister Christine Padrutt, her brother Timothy Rea, and many loving friends.
