Mr. Trevor Lee HarrisTrevor Lee Harris, age 44, passed away at UAB Hospital in the arms of his cherished wife Tamara on the morning of April 18, 2026. He received a liver and kidney transplant three years ago, which allowed him more time on this earth. Even though he was an organ recipient, Trevor was also an organ donor so was able to donate the gift of sight with his passing.
Trevor was born in Cullman County Alabama on July 23, 1981, and lived in the Arab area most of his life, graduating from Arab High School in 1999. He then went on to join the U.S. Coast Guard, graduating first in the X-RAY Company, earning the Sharpshooter ribbon, and receiving the Lone Sailor award for highest overall academic achievement. He served over 13 years in the U.S. Coast Guard as a Marine Science Technician, earning many more accolades, and made lasting friendships at his duty stations ranging from Morgan City, Louisiana and Mobile, Alabama, to Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Washington, D.C. His final resting place will be in the family cemetery at Green Pastures, Arab.
Trevor was proud of his family and loved them dearly. He enjoyed his family and friends and was always there to lend a helping hand when needed. He couldn’t leave a stray animal to fend for itself so took in many abandoned cats and dogs over the years. Trevor also loved family get-togethers and community block parties. He touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Trevor’s legacy will live on through the memories we cherish and the love we shared.
Trevor is survived by his wife of almost 20 years, Tamara (Buie) Harris, sons Justin Allen and Preston Harris, and daughter Scarlett Harris; mother Cynthia Howton (Mark), father Ronnie Harris (Mary), brother Jonah Harris (Laura), brother John Perrault, brother Jason Harris, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, William and Mary Green, and his paternal grandparents Alfred and Juanita Harris.
A Celebration of Life memorial will be held from 1:00 to 3:00pm on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, Arab, Alabama.
Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel is honored to assist family during this time.
