Rufus Charles Dunnavant, 69 of Athens, passed away on Wednesday, February 19th, 2025, at his residence. He was born on April 17th, 1955, in Pulaski, Tennessee, to Rufus Henry Dunnavant and Virginia Thomas Dunnavant.
Mr. Dunnavant is survived by his daughter Tina Abel; son Stanley Dunnavant (Sabrina); grandchildren Nathaniel, Terry, Matthew, Breanna, Allison, and Ethan; great-grandchildren Lynnlee, Ava, Jack; and siblings Barbara, Dot, Carolyn, Aaron, and Roger; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife Barbara Dunnavant; and siblings Doug, Frances, and Joyce.
Funeral services for Mr. Dunnavant will be Monday, February 24th, 2025, at 2:00pm at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home, with Cody Dunnavant and Taylor Calder officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, February 23rd, from 6:00-9:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Gatlin Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.
Mr. Dunnavant loved country and gospel music. He enjoyed guns, trucks, and cars. Most importantly, he loved God! He will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
