Ronald Erwin Neuendorf, 78, of Decatur passed away peacefully at his residence on June 13, 2023. Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 am on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Decatur. Funeral service will immediately follow at 11:00.
Ron was born July 13, 1944 in Greenville, AL to Berna and Erwin Neuendorf. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Wayne Neuendorf, and son, Brent Neuendorf. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Nancy Neuendorf, his two daughters, Kim (Ryan) Blackenburg, Kerri (Brandon) Baxter, five grandchildren, Nolan, Miles, and Eve Blackenburg, Kennedy and Ben Baxter, brother, Dale Neuendorf, sister, Annabeth (Billy) Goodwin, and many nieces and nephews.
He was a graduate of Greenville High School and Auburn University with a degree in Aviation Management. He enjoyed a long career as a successful small business owner, loved gardening and spending time outdoors, enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles, and was a history buff and animal lover. Ron was actively involved with his church family for many years at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Of all of his accomplishments in life, he was most proud of his family.
The family would like to thank the pallbearers, members of our church family at St. Paul’s, friends, and neighbors for their love, support, and many prayers during Ron’s illness.
