Robert Bunt, 77 of Bagley, passed away April 10, 2025, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Monday, April 14, 2025, at New Horizon Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour before service time. Burial will follow in Good Hope Baptist Cemetery.
Robert is survived by his wife of almost 59 years, Linda Bunt. They raised two sons, Brian (Angela) Bunt and Andy (Crystal) Bunt. He is survived by his stepmother Geri Bunt. He is also survived by four brothers, David (Tammy) Bunt, Steven (Kathy) Bunt, Michael (Billie) Bunt and Richard (Laura) Bunt and two sisters Cheryl (Rookie) Smith and Debra (Rus) Metler. He cherished his five grandchildren, Brandon, Bradley, Lindsey, Kylee and Seth and three great grandchildren, Jacqueline, Braelynn and Robert James, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and best friend of the family Kathy James.
Robert married the love of his life on May 6, 1959. He was a lifetime coal miner, having worked in several mines in the area before retiring from Jim Walter Mines. He had a great love of the outdoors and animals. He would often bring injured animals into the home and nurse them back to health.
Robert was loved and adored by all who knew him and was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
