Ricky Wayne Moody, age 67 of Houston, passed away July 26, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Ricky loved his work as a volunteer fireman. He served the Central Fire Department (Houston, AL) as assistant fire chief. Ricky was also a minister of The Gospel and had a heart for witnessing to people. Most of all, Ricky loved The Lord and His family and will be missed by so many.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 30, 2023 from 12:00 Noon – 2:00 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Double Springs, where the service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Houston Church of God Cemetery. Brother Bobby Smith will officiate the service. Dee Wallace, Jeremy Stiff, Larry Hammack, Donald Hammack, Blake Baker, and Jerritt Whitman will serve as pallbearers.
Ricky is survived by his wife, Christine Moody; daughters, Jessica (Shane) Hogan and Misty Hampton; son, Ricky Wayne Moody, Jr., step-daughter, Angela (Jeremy) Stiff, step-son, Jerritt Whitman; sister, Kathy (Bill) Marks; brother, Royce (Brenda) Moody; 12 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Chester Moody; mother, Hazel Moody Garrison; and brothers, Ray Lee Moody and Robert Moody.
