MONTGOMERY-We are now accepting applications for our 2020 Youth Council from youth 14-24! The deadline to apply is now Sunday, March 22 at 11:59pm.
The Youth Council (YC) is comprised of 6-10 youth from around the state who help to plan and develop the Youth Food & Farm Forum. YC members have the opportunity to build skills in event planning, communication, outreach, and leadership, and to build collaborative relationships with other youth around the state, all while working towards the successful execution of a statewide event.
Youth Council members are required to:
* attend an in-person overnight orientation in April (exact dates and location TBD)
* prepare for an actively participate in regular YC video-meetings (via Zoom)
* participate fully in the Youth Forum Dec 10-12, 2020 in Fairhope, AL
* develop and complete a “leadership project” related to the Youth Forum
Youth Council members receive a stipend equivalent to $80/month, in recognition of their time and work. All registration and lodging costs are covered. (Youth may also receive a travel stipend, if funds allow.)
