Nancy Rogers Wood Holland, 83, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at The Meadows. She was born November 30, 1941, the only child born to Wayne and Mozelle Wood. She graduated from Itawamba Agricultural High School, Itawamba Junior College, and the University of Mississippi, from which she received her B.S. and M.S. in Education in 1963. Her career in education began in Charleston, MS, where she met her husband of 61 years, James C. Holland. She later taught in Saltillo, Hamilton, AL, and Fulton Grammar School, from where she retired after approximately 27 years in the classroom.
Mrs. Holland’s life was guided by her faith. She was an active member of First Baptist Church and Bethel Baptist Church for many years and most recently Fulton Free Will Baptist Church. She faithfully served as a Sunday school teacher, VBS volunteer, and many other church ministries. She lived her testimony every day as she loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and served Him in all she did.
From her years as a student during the integration of Ole Miss until now, Mrs. Holland was a passionate Ole Miss Rebel fan. She enjoyed spending many game days on campus with her family and fellow Rebels cheering for their team. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren to whom she was “Ma.”
Funeral services honoring Mrs. Holland’s life will be at 3 p.m. Friday, October 24, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. Brandon Bell officiating. Her grandson Cole Holland will deliver the eulogy. Burial will be in Itawamba Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from noon until service time Friday at the funeral home.
She is survived by her husband, James Holland; her two sons and daughters-in-love, Jim and Lori Holland and Eric and Tracy Holland; and her grandchildren, Cole Holland, Jack Holland, Callie Lusk (Chad), and Sam Holland.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons Cole, Jack, and Sam Holland, as well as Brad Holland, Mike Lane, and Chad Lusk.
The family would like to extend their love and appreciation to Dr. Jody Kelly, special friend and caregiver to the Holland family, and to the entire staff of The Meadows.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Fulton Free Will Baptist Church’s Food Ministry for needy students.
