Mary Jean Shelton, 94, of Scottsboro, AL passed away peacefully at home August 23, 2026.
Mrs. Shelton was born and raised in Larkinsville and lived in Scottsboro for many years. Besides spoiling her grandchildren, her favorite things to do were to cook, read, crossword puzzles, and word searches.
She is was preceded in death by her husband David Harold Shelton, her parents Richard and Lula Harris, her sister Ruth Hill, her daughter-in-law Donna Shelton, and many beloved friends.
Mrs. Shelton is survived by her son David Allen Shelton of Scottsboro, her granddaughters Rachelle Shelton and Raegan Shelton, her grandson Daniel Shelton (Lauren), and her great-grandchildren Nora, Zachary, and William.
Graveside and burial services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 26, 2026 at Cedar Hill Cemetery with Chaplain Rick Fowler officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the Graveside service beginning at 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 26, 2026 at Scottsboro Funeral Home.
