Steven Craig Barrett, Sr. “Steve”, 69 of Irondale, passed away August 23, 2026.
He was a graduate of Corner High School, class of 1975. He was a former Professor at Bevill State College. One of his greatest joys in life was playing guitar and making music with his friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, B.J. Barrett and Doris H. Barrett.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Lofstad; son, Carig Barrett and wife Mindy; brother, J. Malcolm Barrett; sister, Donna B. Decker and husband Gary; nieces, Karen Watkins, and Myra and Mary Barrett; and his lifelong friends, David Drummond and Randy Daver.
Funeral services will be Thursday August 27, 2026 at 2:00 pm in the New Horizon Memorial Chapel. Rev. Jack Thorn will officiate. Burial will follow in McCormack Cemetery. Visitation is from 1-2 pm.
