Milton Brian Watts, 55, passed away Wednesday, November 15th surrounded by many family members. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Preston Watts. Brian graduated from Huntsville High School where he played on a state championship tennis team. He later went into the construction business with his father. And also following in his father’s footsteps, he became a gun enthusiast and later worked at JC’s Gun and Tackle.

Uncle Brian was beloved by not only his nephews but his nieces as well. His sense of adventure kept him at the top of the favorite list. He taught his nephews how to fish, shoot a gun, build bonfires, and to love the outdoors, especially if Guntersville Lake was close by. For his nieces, his gentler side came out. The last thing he built were lemonade stands for his great nieces.

For the better part of the last four years, Brian has been a caregiver for his mother; cooking meals, running her errands, taking her wherever she needed to go, and even tending to her flower beds. His presence with both of his parents during their health challenges is appreciated by the entire family more than he could have ever known.

Brian is survived by his mother, Alice Jean Watts, his son, Milton Brian “Miles” Watts, Jr.; brothers, Steven Daniel Watts (Linda) and John Preston Watts (Wimberley); nieces and nephews, Daniel Watts (Melissa), Laura Jean Cooper (Joe), Edward Watts, Alice Kathryn Myers (Paul), Sarah Watts, Preston Watts and Christopher Watts; great nieces and nephews, Harrison Watts, Austin Watts, Harper Watts, Gates Ward, and Campbell Cooper; and his dear friend, Stephanie Case. For Brian and his great love for family, we would be remiss if we didn’t also list his first cousins, who were more like brothers and sisters: Mark Samples, Alice Bentley, Michael Samples, Alyson Thompson, Jay Nelson, Scott Nelson, John Brooks, and Laurie Brooks, and his closest second cousin, Mary Margaret Johnson.

Visitation will be at 2:15 with the service following at 3, on Saturday, November 18 at Laughlin Service Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to UAH College of Engineering 301 Sparkman Drive ENG 157 Huntsville, AL 35899.
