David Brian Williamon, 61, passed away on August 3, 2026, in the ICU, surrounded by his family and friends. Born on November 11, 1964, David lived a life centered around hard work, family, and the simple things that brought him happiness.
David attended Wellborn High School and proudly served his country for several years through the National Guard and the United States Army. He went on to spend an incredible 38 years working at Waffle House, where his long career became a familiar and meaningful part of his life.
For 39 years, David shared his life with his wife, Suzanne. Outside of work, he enjoyed cooking, playing bingo at the Elks Lodge on Noble Street, and settling in to watch NCIS. He also treasured time spent with his longtime four-legged friend, Sidewinder, who was never far from his side.
Above all, David loved his family and the life they built together. He leaves behind his wife, Suzanne Williamon; his son, Joshua Williamon (Danielle Davis); and his grandchildren, Dawson Lee Williamon, Dillion Williamon Folds, Alyssa Folds, Caydence Williamon, Allen, Daniel, Jayden, Maci, and Landon.
David was preceded in death by Gordon and Mildred Williamon; Peggy Irene Denfip; his son, Joseph “Little Joe” Daniel Williamon; and several sisters.
After 39 years of marriage, countless meals cooked, bingo games played, episodes of NCIS watched, and memories made with those closest to him, David leaves behind a life that will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends.
A service will be held at a later date.
