Melanie Gwen Rogers, 49, ended her battle with cancer and went home to be with the Lord on January 15, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 17, 1965 in Limestone, Maine. Melanie has two children, Shea Chamness and her significant other Chuck Dutton, Allen and his wife Erin Chamness all of Pensacola, FL. Four grandchildren Maysn, Carsen, Kiely, and Kaeden. She was also survived by her significant other Robbie Reese of Meridian, MS. Melanie was born to Mary Sellers and the late Edward A. Rogers I. For the last sixteen years she was a beloved step-daughter to the late Arthur Sellers of Decatur, AL. She is also survived by two sisters, and two brothers, Rhonda Rogers of Oak Island, NC, Edward A. Rogers II, and wife Minna of Falkville, AL, Rodney Rogers and his wife Mary of Danville, AL, Lori Culp and husband Mark of Union Grove, AL. Also survived by multiple nieces and nephews. Melanie lived courageously and faithfully during her illness. She loved life and people. She brings a lightness of hope with our grief. John 14:1-3. Visitation will be Sunday January 18th at 11:00 a.m. with the funeral following at 1:00 p.m. at Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home, 1401 Main St. East, Hartselle, with Reverend Dennis Phillips officiating, and burial in Falkville City Cemetery.
