Mary Exton Hyde, age 88, of Sheffield, passed away at her home with her loving daughters at her side on Wednesday, April 16, 2014. Visitation will be held today from 10-10:30 a.m. at Spry-Williams Funeral Home, Florence. The funeral service will follow at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Bo Lloyd officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Sheffield, Ala.
Mrs. Hyde was born in Grantham, England and moved to Sheffield in 1946, after marrying the love of her life, Price M. Hyde. She was a member of East Side Baptist Church of Sheffield.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Osborn and Nellie Exton, and by her loving husband of 63 years, Price Mills Hyde.
She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Moore and husband, Amos, and Patricia Moore; brother, John Exton and wife, Edna; sister, Vinnie Exton; grandchildren, John Pounders, Kimberly Pounders, Tessa Rushing and husband, Joey, and Alicia Cameron; great-grandchildren, Will and Leah Rushing, Chloe Cameron, and Kelsey Pounders; special daughters, Debbie Elkins and husband, Tim, and Pam Swinea and husband, Dan; and special friends, Kenneth and Dale Landers and Dot Poston
