Lydia E. Stidham, 93, passed away Monday, August 13, 2018, at Russellville Hospital. Born in Frankfort on September 28, 1924, Lydia attained the distinction of being the longest living person to date in her McDaniel family line. She was a devoted member of the Washington Avenue Church of Christ, reading her Bible daily, trusting in His Word. She lived a simple life of family, close neighbors, and friends, enjoying the beauty of her yard and street and her daily lunch/dinner at Jack’s and McDonald’s. Simplicity ruled her nature.

Visitation will be held at Pinkard Funeral Home, Thursday, August 16, 2018 from noon until time of funeral service at 2 p.m. It is an honor to have Brother Guy McDaniel and Brother Gary Carter officiating. Lydia will then be buried in Franklin Memory Gardens alongside her loving and devoted parents, Charlie and Lula McDaniel, whom she loved so very much.

She is survived by her beloved children, Janie (Kevin) Hauck and Vickie (Gerry) Green; stepson, Scott (Tracy) Stidham; grandchildren, Dana (Tim) Caldwell, Kristen Wilson, Jason Hauck (and Bryce); great-grandchildren, Amber Gavin Wilson, Grace, Carly, Zach and Kyle Caldwell; great-great-grandchild, Sawyer Stevens. Lydia held such a special place in their hearts. She is also survived by grandcats, Romeo, Nomi and Riley, and great-granddog, Tucker, who romped in her yard and house on visits with great relish, but always was so gentle with her.

She also leaves behind her beloved brother, Guy (Ann) McDaniel; dearest sisters, Christine (James) Hester and Linda Dian Hester; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. She will be sorely missed.

Lydia was preceded in death by her brothers, Eulis, Wesley and Charles McDaniel; sisters, Clois Davis and Dorothy Moran; and her cherished daughter, Polly Wilson.

Lydia would love having memorial donations made to the Washington Avenue Church of Christ in lieu of flowers.

Deepest thanks to the compassionate, supportive staff at Russellville Hospital for their efforts, and to Dr. Rizk Moutagaly for gently taking care of Lydia all these many years.

Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville, is directing.
