Mrs. Lula Mae Beecham Butler Mrs. Lula Mae Beecham Butler, age 102, passed away late Wednesday in Lexington. Mrs. Butler was born January 17, 1920 in Henderson County to the late John Issac and Matilda Davis Beecham. She started working at Salant/Salant in 1936 and remained there for 33 years. In 1972 she began working at Lexington –Henderson County Hospital in Housekeeping and retired in 2003 from Lexington Manor. Mrs. Butler was a member of Center Hill Holiness Church and enjoyed quilting, gardening, and going out with family and friends to eat fish. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Holmes Butler; one daughter, Patricia Fesmire; three brothers, Herchel Beecham, Dorsey Beecham, and Earchel Beecham; and her sister, Vassie Waddle. Survivors include her two sons, John Butler (Sheryl) and James C. Fesmire; two daughters, Linda Fesmire Utley (Rich) and Deborah Lynn Fesmire; six grandchildren, Santana Holmes, Jennifer Prough (Ryan), Tasha Johnson (Larry), Bo Fesmire (Terisa), Caleb Butler, and Jacob Butler; and six great grandchildren, Kayli Prough, Zachary Holmes, Mia Johnson, Randy Holmes, Ciara Johnson, and Alania Johnson.
Funeral services are scheduled for 3 PM, Saturday, April 9, 2022 in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home in Lexington. Interment will follow in Center Hill Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, 3-9 PM and on Saturday, 9 AM – 3 PM
