Loyce Garrett “Tommie” Chapman

Mrs. Loyce Garrett “Tommie” Chapman, 83, of Estillfork passed away Saturday, September 28, 2019 at Cumberland Health and Rehab. Mrs. Chapman was a lifelong homemaker, caregiver, enjoyed quilting and crocheting, and was a founding member of Valley Volunteer Fire Department in Estillfork. She was also a lifelong member of Grays Chapel United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Chapman is survived by her daughter, Diane (Randy) Gray of New Market; son, Michael (Tina) Chapman of Estillfork; granddaughter, Kayla Chapman of Scottsboro; great grandson and light of her life, Joshua Chapman Stuhr of Scottsboro; sisters, Alice Sisk of Estillfork, and Lousie Sims of Homewood, IL; brother, Cordell Garrett of Belvidere, TN and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Chapman was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Glenn Chapman; daughter in law, Glenda Chapman; twin sister, Joyce “Sweety” Putman; brothers, John Garrett, Jimmy Garrett, and William Hardy “Buck” Garrett; parents, Hardy and Charlsie Garrett.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Christopher Clayton, Highlands Home Health & Southern Care New Beacon Hospice, especially Sam & Ashley and special caregivers, Mavis Rouse, Romaine Rouse, Doris Avans, Mary Ellen Brewer, and Annette Baugh for caring for Mrs. Chapman over the last year. She cared for so many in her lifetime and you took such good care of her in her last days.
Visitation will be held Sunday, September 29, 2019, from 5:00-8:00 PM, with graveside service to be held at Sisk Cemetery in Estillfork at 11 AM on Monday, September 30, 2019.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Southern Care New Beacon Hospice or the American Glaucoma Society.
