Lower Bond Denied Former Petting Zoo Employee On Abuse Charges…6th Abuse Charge Added

Media Arrest file 050316-33FLORENCE-Daryl V. Raymond, Jr., 48 had appeared in court on Friday, May 6 for a hearing were a Lauderdale County Judge denied Raymond’s request to have his bond lowered.

Raymond is accused of Sexual Abuse of a Child Under the Age of 12.  When Raymond came to his court hearing he was facing 5 counts of Sexual Abuse of A Child, when he left another charge had been levied against him.  He now faces six counts of Sexual Abuse of a Minor Under 12.

Raymond was arrested on Saturday, April 30 after the owner of the petting zoo, Jungle Safari called police when the grandmother of one of the alleged victims  informed him, Robert Engresser that improper touching by Raymond had occurred.

Court documents show Raymond was touching children in an inappropriate way while the victims were riding ponies at the petting zoo.

Raymond is being held on a bond of $300,00 and his next court date is scheduled for June 17, 2016.
