Lou Ann MartinLou Ann Martin, 68, passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family and friends. She was born on April 14, 1956, to Leighton E. and Agnes Marie Stevens Mooneyhan in New Albany, MS. She retired from Southern Motion Furniture as Customer Service Manager. Lou Ann enjoyed playing the piano, working in her flowers, cooking, vacationing in the mountains and the beach, as well taking Sunday afternoon drives. A member of Cherry Creek Baptist Church, she enjoyed time spent with family and friends but especially her grandchildren. She was always full of mischief and was great at making people laugh and having a good time wherever she went.
Lou Ann is survived by her husband, Bill Martin, her children, Nicky Walker (Michelle) and Krystal Jenkins (Chris), her grandchildren, Noah Walker, Carly Walker, Eli Walker, and Anna Leigh Jenkins, her siblings, Diane Horton (Mike), June Heard (Randy), Jane McCord (Tony), Joe Mooneyhan (Annette), and Tracy Mooneyhan (Mandy), her in-laws, Owen Martin (Velinda), Bennie Martin, Ann Martin Abbott, Steve Martin (Shirley), and Randy Martin (Renea), a host of nieces and nephews, and her best friend, Betty Pitts.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her in-laws, Johnnie and Syble Martin, WL “Dub” Abbott, and Linda Dowdy Martin, and two nieces, April Caldwell Martin and Tanya Criddle Abbott.
Services will be Saturday, September 7, 2024, at 2PM at Cherry Creek Baptist Church with Bro. Kevin Wallace and Bro. Chuck Hampton officiating. Visitation will be Friday, September 6th 5-8PM at Cherry Creek Baptist Church and Saturday, September 7th 12PM until service time. Burial will be in Oak Hill Baptist Church Cemetery-Pontotoc, MS. Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc is in charge of arrangements.
Her nephews will serve as pallbearers.
