A graveside service for Billy C. Turney, 83, of Somerville, will be Monday, April 28, 2025 at 5:00PM at Turney Family Cemetery with Bro. Jack Bailey officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. There will be no visitation prior to service. Mr Turney was born on October 23, 1941 to Parish and Beatrice Turney in Alabama. He died on Friday, April 25, 2025 at Decatur Morgan Hospital.
Billy was a loving father and grandfather. He loved hunting, fishing, and farming but most of all, he loved watching his grandkids play ball and spending time with his family. Mr. Turney also loved catching and chasing frogs, fireflies, and roly polies with all the kids. Billy was preceded in death by his parents and sister Ruby Oden.
Survivors Include:
Son: Keith Turney (Tina)
Daughter: Jennifer Turney
Three sisters: Ruth Oden, Patsy Jones (Howard), and Terria Holt.
Four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Martin, Justin Cobb, Tracy Sandlin, Thomas Tanner, Zac Smith, Justin Hazel, and Lance Sandlin.
