Donna Mae Spitznagel passed peacefully on April 24, 2025. She is survived by her son Harley (Michelle) Spitznagel, daughter Nicole Spitznagel, son Greg (Allyn) Russell, sister Lisa Markiewicz, brother Mark (April) Markiewicz, sister Marlene Jacobs, her amazing grandchildren who affectionately called her Peanut; Logan, Allysa, Josh, Felicity, Austin, and Judson, and many wonderful nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceeded in death by her father Len Markiewicz, mother Shelby Sloan, brother Leonard Markiewicz, sister Paula Rodgers, grandson Wyatt, and dear aunts, uncles and cousins.
Donna was a beautiful, incredible and unique woman. She had the most open, giving, and kind soul. A mother who loved her children fiercely, but also warmly embracing and encouraging ones who were not her own. Donna was cherished by many, including those friends who became family.
We will remember her laughter and smile, that carefree silly goofiness, her love of music and dancing, her animals, and of course her garden. She was the type of person who enjoyed every adventure. Whether it was as the cool field trip parent, a skilled lady who enjoyed shooting pool or playing cards, trecking through the Grand Canyon, making holidays special, going to Six Flags, or many shows and concerts, she was truly one-of-a-kind! Living with her whole heart for her family, friends, and life, Donna was more than present in these moments, and those memories we will always hold close. Her family takes comfort in knowing she is with loved ones and that she is finally at rest.
Visitation will be Sunday 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at New Hope Funeral Home Chapel.
