Lona Beatrice Youngblood

Lona Beatrice Youngblood, 89, passed away on December 12, 2024 at Mississippi Care Center. She was born on June 2, 1935 to the late Temple and Zethel Harp James. She was a graduate of Corinth High School and a longtime member of Chewalla Baptist Church. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She was very selfless and always took care of her family and friends. She enjoyed going to church, reading her Bible, cooking, gardening her flowers, working on the farm and camping at Bay Springs.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Youngblood; son, Dale Youngblood, sister, Corine Nix, brother, Kenneth James, half-brother, Tommy James and half-sister, Lucy King.

She is survived by her son, Donald Youngblood (Gail); daughter, Karen Chenault (Donny); grandchildren, Dan Youngblood, Brian Youngblood (Lindsey), Matt Youngblood, Brandi Gilbert (Michael) and Raquel Chenault; step-grandchildren, Kristopher Chenault and family and Jonathan Chenault and family; great-grandchildren, Anne Paige Austin (Alex), Garrett Youngblood (Megan), Grant Youngblood (Anne), Sadie Youngblood, Harper Youngblood, Macee Gilbert and Gunner Gilbert; great-great-grandchildren, Andi Etta Austin, Atlas Stone Austin and Taytum Blake Youngblood; half-brother, Kenneth James; special friend, Dorothy Foster and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A celebration of life will take place at 11:00 am Monday at Memorial Funeral Home with Bro. Richard Doyle officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am until service time.
