Josephine Waterhouse McDonald WilsonJosephine Waterhouse McDonald Wilson, Better Known to her friends as Jo, lived a full and happy life. Always ready to go if someone called and when her Savior, Jesus Christ called she answered His call because she was ready to go. She looked forward to her home in heaven because she would be reunited with her son, daughter, husband and other family members.
Her service will be at the church she attended, Parker Memorial Baptist church on Sunday, August 7 at 2p.m. with Dr. Mack Amis officiating. Burial will be at Oxford Memorial Gardens in Oxford, Al. Beside the grandparents that raised her. She loved her church and her church family.
Ms. Wilson is survived by family members step daughter Tonya Powers Thomas and her husband
Adam, stepson Christopher Wilson, daughter in law Stephanie McDonald, 3 grandsons Blake
McDonald, Morgan McDonald and his wife Tori, Tate McDonald, 3 step grandchildren Dakota Powers
and his wife Ashley, Cheyenne Powers Screws and husband Jacob, Hudson Thomas and 3 great
grandchildren, Justin Lynn Powers, Caroline Faith Powers, and Easton Cole Screws, sister Judy
Waterhouse, half sister Jeannie Barber and her husband Ray of England and half brother Donald
Jones of England and her fur babies Winston, Dash and Tigger. She is also survived by her special
sisters, Joyce Bentley, Marie Corbett, and Dixie Brooks. They all went to school together at
DeArmanville.
Ms. Wilson was proceeded in death by her husband Roger Lynn Wilson, a son Michael Shane
McDonald, an infant daughter, and a stepson John McDonald, her mother Jean Playdon Jones of
England and her dad William D. Waterhouse, and her grandparents Richard and Martha Duke
Waterhouse who raised her from the time she was three years old.
Ms. Wilson had several hobbies including crafting, cooking, baking but her favorite was playing the
piano especially church hymns. You could find her playing sometimes at midnight when she couldn’t
sleep. She looked forward to Christmas when the family would all gather at her house and celebrate.
She would always sit in a rocker by the tree and read the Christmas Story from the bible but her
favorite holiday was Easter and if you ask her why she would tell you that’s when Jesus rose from the
dead.
Ms. Wilson Worked at the Anniston Star for over 40 years and that is where she meet her first
husband Horace McDonald who was working there at the time. They met and married shortly
thereafter. Her son Shane and a grandson Morgan also worked at the star carrying on the family
tradition.
She was currently employed at Parker Memorial Baptist Church as the receptionist, and loved her job
coworkers dearly.
Ms. Wilson request no flowers but make a donation to your favorite charity.
