Funeral service for Joseph Mason Riley, 83, will be Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Earl Holt and Rev. Tommy Smothers officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in New Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, November 25, 2013 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Mr. Riley died on Sunday, November 24, 2013 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. He was born Thursday, May 29, 1930, in Morgan County to Joseph Elbert Riley and Ollie Beatrice Whitten. He was a deacon for over 40 years and was a member of Serenity Baptist Church. He was a United States Army Veteran who served during the Korean Conflict. He was retired from Fruehauf Corporation after 27 1/2 years and was a member of the Aluminum Workers Union. He was preceded in death by a sister: Elese Landrum and his parents.

his Wife of 58 years:
Virginia Ann Riley, Somerville, AL

One Son:
Tony Riley (Pam), Decatur, AL

One Sister:
Ollie Fay Sanders, Jackson, TN

Three Grandchildren:
Anita Owens (D. J. ),
Joey Riley (Robin), and
Whitney Pena (Tony)

4 Great Grandchildren

Pallbearers will be Joey Riley, D.J. Owens, Tony Pena, Arvil Nix, Earl Holt, and Eugene Speegle.

In lieu of flowers: memorial donations may be made to the Gideons International.
