Janet Diane Strange Adams

Janet Diane Strange Adams, 79, passed away late Saturday October 16th, 2021, surrounded by her family.  Marshall Memorial Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.  Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, October 20th, 2021, with Pastor JL Colquitt officiating.

Janet was preceded in death by her children Marlin Strange; Lee Strange; Carl and Cara Strange; and Denny Strange; her parents Floyd and Hattie Carter; and her brother Lawrence Carter, and her great grandson Alex Drew Burgess.

Janet was born in Tennessee to Floyd and Hattie Carter.  She was the 3rd of 5 children born.  The family moved to Michigan when she was young for a job opportunity for her father.  She worked as a seamstress for Red Cap, where she retired after a long career.  She moved to Alabama when one of her children got sick and that is where she stayed for the remainder of her life.

She was known by her family as the Queen of Pranks.  She was the biggest prankster wherever she was at the time.  She made everyone laugh and was a joy to be around.

Janet is survived by her daughter Myra Burgess and her husband Mitch; grandchildren Chris Ferrell; Nina Burgess; Lauren Strange; Courtney Strange; Nick Strange; Braxton Strange and McKenna Strange; sisters Vanessa Strange; Peggy Neighbours and brother Michael Carter; special great granddaughter Lydia Ferrell and several great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday October 19th, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Marshall Memorial Funeral Home.
