DECATUR-The Decatur Police unraveled an identity fraud while investigating an investigation into the illegal sale of crack cocaine. Here is how events unfolded:
“During the last several months, members of the Decatur Police Department’s Organized Crime Unit conducted an operation of the illegal sales of crack cocaine in the City Limits of Decatur. During the operation, a white female sold a quantity of crack cocaine on one occasion.
During previous encounters with police, the female had produced identification which identified her as Lacey Brooke Morrison.
On May 20, 2014, Inv. Kirk Arrington obtained a Felony Warrant for Unlawful Distribution of a Controlled Substance on Lacey Brooke Morrison.
On June 4, 2014 members of the Anti-Crime Unit located Lacy Morrison at 211 3rd Avenue SW Apt #B Decatur, AL.
Officers served the Felony Warrant for Distribution of a Controlled Substance on Morrison and transported her to the Decatur City Jail.
Shortly thereafter, investigators learned that Morrison was using her sister’s information every time she made contact with the police. Investigators were able to correctly identified her as Sabra Nicole Morrison.
Inv. Arrington additionally charged Sabra Morrison with Obstructing Justice Using a False Identity.
Sabra Morrison was processed in the Decatur City Jail and will later be transferred to the Morgan County Jail and held in lieu of a $7,500.00 bond.”
