Houston Calaway “Billy” Blancett, age 95 of Boaz passed away Sunday, July 14, 2024 at his home.
His funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Albertville Memorial Chapel with burial to follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in the Sims Community. Bro. David Lackey and Bro. Lewis Smith will officiate his service. Pallbearers will be Blake Blancett, Bill Blake, Michael Chaviers, McCall Roe, Sam Jenkins and Ken McCollum. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
He is survived by his wife; Murial Blancett, daughter; Renee’ Blancett Lackey and son-in-law: David B. Lackey, Jr., step-daughters; Mary Madison and Elizabeth Blake, step-son; Bill Blake and wife; Celeste, grandchildren; Julia Michelle Crawford, Blake Houston Blancett and wife; Hannah J, Mike Hubbard and wife; Allison, Jessica Brooke Silvers and husband; T. J., Amanda Vandyke and husband; Tim, Angela Schumacher and husband; Craig, Melissa Madison and sixteen great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Hugh and Nettie Underwood Blancett, three brothers, five sisters, former wife; Julia Bonds Blancett, son; Houston Rex Blancett and daughter-in-law; Debbie Blancett.
