Herbert-Lancaster-1431096973Funeral services for Herbert Lonnie Lancaster, 71 of Corinth, MS are set for Saturday, May 9, 2015 @ 11:00am at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with burial in Forrest Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, May 8, 2015 from 5:00pm-8:00pm and Saturday, May 9, 2015 from 10:00am until service time at Magnolia Funeral Home. Mr. Lancaster died Thursday, May 7, 2015 at UAB Hospital at Birmingham. He was born March 23, 1944 in Corinth, MS and a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. He worked at Garan Manufacturing for 23 years and Prentiss Manufacturing for 11 years. He was the owner/operator of Dinner Bell Restaurant and Southeastern Sample Company. His passions were his family , music and gardening.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years: Janice Ann Strickland Lancaster – Corinth; daughters: Melissa Carson – Corinth and Amanda Sugg and husband Brian – Amory, MS; 3 grandchildren: Kennedy Carson, Kassidy Carson and Brooke Sugg; brothers: Jerry Lancaster and wife Christine- Rodeo, CA and Jimmy Lancaster and wife Patricia –Corinth, MS; sisters: Nellie Blair- Horseshoe Bend, AR.; Hilda Mitchell and husband John – Corinth; Shirley McClamroch and husband Mike- Corinth and Barbara Elam and husband Bob- Corinth, MS; sisters-in-law: Jimmie Marlar and husband Roger- Memphis, TN and Sarah Kennedy – Corinth, MS; extended family that made such a difference in his life and he in theirs; Jessica Humphreys, Josh Driver, Chris Tucker and Abbey Hollowell and other relatives and a host of friends. he is preceded in death by his father: Buford Lancaster: his mother: Carrie Mae Leatherwood Lancaster and brothers-in-law: Jim Blair, Gerald Carter and Bobby Kennedy. Pallbearers will be Bob Maddox, Mike Elledge, Gary Yelding, Casey James, Casey Oaks and Craig Essary. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Strawn and Charles Manley. In Lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to The Palative Care Unit @ UAB. Bro. Jimmy Lancaster and Dr. Randy Bostick will officiate the service.
