Obituary of Helen Ann Morris Helen Ann Morris, age 85 of Bemis, passed away on January 2, 2024 in Jackson, TN lovingly surrounded by her family.

Helen was born on December 8, 1938 in Medon, TN the daughter of the late Clarence Everett Warren and Lois Lavenia Thomas Warren. Helen was raised in Bemis, Tennessee, where she still resided and cared deeply for her community, enjoying family, neighbors, and visitors throughout the day.

Helen had a vibrant, spunky, firecracker of a personality. She loved to laugh, cut-up, and her smile was contagious. Helen loved life and knew her priorities. Helen loved the Lord and was a member of South Jackson Church of Christ. Helen’s life was also devoted to her family.

She loved her children and grandchildren, praising them, raising them, and promoting their self-confidence without fail. She was a constant support, a voice of love, and a builder upper for good. Helen retired from Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, where she was a family representative in the emergency department, comforting others through difficult times.

Nanny, as so many lovingly called her, was a true southern belle, preparing her home for every holiday, making her daily phone calls and check-ins, preparing for family gatherings, and designing delicious menus. She was giving and meticulous in her prayers, life, and planning, centering her events around people and fun. No one doubted if they were loved or included in Helen’s presence.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Stephen Greer; daughter in law, Lori Lea Greer; her brother Wayne Warren; and her step son Tom “Ed” Walker.

She is survived by her children, Milton “Mittie” Greer of Pinson, Sheila Greer of Jackson, Mark Greer (Kelly) of Collinwood, Tim Greer (Renee) of Jackson, and daughter-in-law Brenda Greer of Ponotoc, MS; grandchildren: Stephen, Seth, Saylor, Ragan, Gretchen, Jackson, and Sonya; great grandchildren: Kade, Braden, Ashton, Mason, Ace, Abel, Kit, and Colby; her sisters, Faye Venable (Joe) and Doris Crow; and her sister in law, Diane Warren.

She also had a special love and held precious memories of Henderson and for the Walker Boys/Girls and their families.

Funeral services for Mrs. Helen will be held on Friday, January 5, 2024 at 2:00 pm at the South Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons. The family will receive friends beginning at 12 noon until the time of the funeral.
