Carl Ray Bennett

Carl Ray Bennett, 77 went to be with his Lord January 2, 2024. He was born on January 1, 1946 in Bruce, MS to the late Rex and Janet Bryant Bennett. He was retired maintenance with MDOT, member of Adaton Baptist Church in Starkville, MS, and a U.S. Air Force Veteran. During his pastime he enjoyed making leather belts and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Myra Jo Hamill; and a brother, R.A. Bennett.

He is survived by his sister, Betty Bennett Jeffries (David) of Starkville, MS; sister-in-law, Ann Bennett of Starkville, MS; nieces and nephews, Melissa J. Markham of Houston, TX, Jennifer J. Lomen of Starkville, MS, Sonya H. Sutherland of Gluckstadt, MS, and Anthony Bennett of Starkville, MS; and great nieces and nephews, Brittany, Haley, Tyler, Blake, Katie, Jacob, and David James.

There will be a private service for the family Thursday, January 4, 2024 at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville, MS. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Starkville.

The family asks that memorials be made to Adaton Baptist Church, 2872 MS-182, Starkville, MS 39759.
