Harold Eugene Reeves – Obituary

HaroldHarold Eugene Reeves, 88, died Sunday, April 10, 2016 at the Coen Green House at United Methodist Senior Services where he had resided the last few months. Born July 5, 1927 in the Woodland Community of Pontotoc County to Zeal and Allie Mae Hood Reeves, he and his family had resided on the family farm in the Wren Community in Monroe Co. since the early 1960’s. Harold loved the land and farming dairy cattle, row crops, hogs and chickens. He also ran a milk route for many years for the Borden Milk Company out of Okolona. Later, in addition to farming , he drove a truck for C and F Asphalt Company. He enjoyed bird and coon hunting and was a master gardener. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Margaret Tackitt Reeves on June 14, 2016, a son, Larry Eugene and he was the last survivor of 12 Reeves siblings. He and his family were active members of the Nettleton Church of Christ.

A service celebrating his life will be held at 2 PM Today, April 12, 2016 at the Nettleton Church of Christ with Ministers Jimmy Bates and Wayne Cox officiating. Private burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Pontotoc County. Visitation will be from 1 PM-service time today at the Church, 30063A Highway 6, Nettleton, 38858. Holland Funeral Directors, Nettleton Chapel, is entrusted with arrangements.

Survivors include his children: Barbara Davis (Scotty) of Verona; Jennie Carol Cates (Michael) of Fulton; Ricky Reeves (Cheryl) of Pontotoc and Curtis Reeves (Sabrina) of the Carolina Community. 8 grandchildren: Greg, Jennifer, Larry, Emily, Bethany, Calan, Kelsey and Allie. 4 great grandchildren: Maddie Fran, Lexie, Ryder Cole and Madison. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pallbearers will be grandsons: Greg, Larry, Calan Reeves, Jim Gann, Kirk Sparks and Derek Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Waddle and Truman Reeves.
